Many students in community schools in the Colombian Amazon may strongly desire to attend school, but cannot. While students do not pay tuition to participate in public school, they are required to provide their own uniforms, shoes, and classroom supplies. Their families cannot afford these expenses.
The Amazon Pueblo Scholarship Program helps these students to attend school. Many of their needs can be met for $140 per year per student.
